KeepClip for iOS
The short version. KeepClip has no accounts, no servers of ours, and no analytics of our own. We never see what you download. The only data leaving your device goes to Google AdMob, which serves the single ad that funds the app — and those ads are non-personalised, so they are not used to track you across apps or websites.
This policy applies to the KeepClip iOS application ("the app", "we", "us"). It does not cover the third-party websites and platforms whose links you paste into the app — those are governed by their own privacy policies.
None. KeepClip has no account system, no login, no user profiles, and no backend server operated by us. We do not collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any personal information. We have no way to identify you and no database in which to record you.
When you tap the download button, the app reads a link from your clipboard. When you use the iOS share sheet, the app receives the link you shared. In both cases iOS shows you a prompt or an explicit action first — the app cannot read your clipboard in the background.
That link is used only to fetch the media it points to. It is held in memory for the duration of the download, is never transmitted to us, and is not retained afterwards.
All extraction happens on your device. The app connects directly to the platform hosting the media (for example YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or X) and downloads the file. There is no intermediary server of ours.
As with opening any link, the platform you connect to can see the connection — typically your IP address and standard request headers. That is a direct connection between your device and them, and their privacy policy governs it.
The app asks for add-only access to your photo library. This permission allows the app to write new items. It does not allow the app to read, browse, scan, or upload anything already in your library, and the app never attempts to.
Your preferences — such as download quality — are stored locally on your device only. They are not synced, backed up to us, or transmitted anywhere.
KeepClip is free. It is funded by a single interstitial advertisement shown during a download, served by Google AdMob. This is the only component of the app that collects data.
Ads in KeepClip are non-personalised. They are selected on the basis of general context rather than a profile of your interests or your behaviour in other apps. Because of this, KeepClip does not display Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt — it has no need to request permission to track you, since it does not.
To serve and measure these ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
| Data | Linked to you | Used to track you | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Device identifier | No | No | Advertising |
| Advertising data | No | No | Advertising |
| Product interaction (usage) | No | No | Advertising, analytics |
| Coarse location | No | No | Advertising |
| Crash data | No | No | App functionality |
| Performance data | No | No | App functionality |
"Coarse location" here means an approximate region derived from your IP address, used to serve region-appropriate ads. The app never requests precise GPS location and has no location permission.
This data is collected and controlled by Google, not by us. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
Apple's SKAdNetwork framework may also report that an app install resulted from an ad shown in KeepClip. SKAdNetwork is designed by Apple to be privacy-preserving: reports are aggregated, delayed, and do not identify individual users.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you are shown a consent form the first time you open the app, presented through Google's User Messaging Platform. Your choice is recorded and respected.
You can change or withdraw that choice at any time from Settings inside the app.
You can also limit ad tracking at the device level in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
KeepClip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no accounts, no messaging, and no user-generated content.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, export, or delete — any such request would return an empty result.
Rights you may have under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA/CPRA in respect of advertising data apply to Google as the party that collects it. Google's privacy tools and contact routes are linked in section 4.
We do not sell or share your personal information, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Media you download is stored in your own Photos library and is yours to keep or delete. Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored settings.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
