Answers to common questions, and how to reach a human.

Need help now? Email keepclip@mubarakeg.com. Please include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and — if a specific link failed — the link itself. That last one saves a lot of back and forth.

Getting started

How do I save something?

The ring fills as the download runs. When it finishes, the file is in your Photos library.

Which platforms work?

YouTube (including Shorts and playlists), Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest, Tumblr and Threads. Many other sites work too, as long as the page publishes a direct media link.

Troubleshooting

"Nothing to download from this link"

The post has no downloadable media, or it is private, deleted, or region-restricted. KeepClip deliberately refuses to save a thumbnail image in place of a video that it could not reach — saving the wrong file is worse than saving nothing.

A YouTube video will not download at any quality

Some YouTube videos are protected and cannot be downloaded. This is not a quality or connection problem — a small low-resolution version is refused exactly like a large one. There is no setting that works around it. If a video is affected, other videos will still download normally.

The video saved but looks wrong or will not play

Please email the link. Individual platforms change their formats regularly and a specific failing link is the fastest route to a fix.

Nothing happens when I tap the button

Check that a link is actually on your clipboard — copy it again, then return to KeepClip. The app needs a web address, not plain text.

The app cannot save to Photos

Go to iOS Settings → KeepClip → Photos and make sure access is allowed. KeepClip only ever asks to add photos; it never reads your library.

Live streams and profile links do not work

Correct — these are refused by design. A live stream has no fixed ending to download, and a profile page is not a single piece of media.

Downloads and quality

Where do my files go?

Straight into your Photos library, alongside your camera roll. KeepClip keeps no separate copy.

Can I change the download quality?

Yes — open Settings inside the app. Choose Best available, Balanced (up to 720p) or Data saver (up to 480p). This applies where the source publishes more than one version; many sites provide a single version, which is always saved exactly as it is.

Do I need to keep the app open?

Yes. Downloads run while KeepClip is on screen. Leaving the app will stop an in-progress download.

Ads and privacy

Why is there an ad?

KeepClip is free and has no subscription. One interstitial ad funds it. It is shown during the download rather than after, so it does not add to your waiting time.

Are the ads personalised?

No. Ads are non-personalised, which is why KeepClip never asks for permission to track you. See the privacy policy for detail.

How do I change my consent choice?

Open Settings inside the app. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland you can review or withdraw consent there at any time.

Responsible use

KeepClip is a tool for saving media for your own personal, offline use — for example your own posts, or content you have permission to keep.

Please respect copyright and the terms of service of the platform you are downloading from. You are responsible for what you download and what you do with it. Do not use KeepClip to redistribute other people's work without their permission.
